A world-changing story, at human scale.

Impact Global Health exists to improve the health of the world’s most overlooked people by increasing the pace and impact of biomedical innovations for diseases, conditions and populations that have been left behind. They believe that a better world begins with more equitable global health. They are an essential partner, collaborator and counsel, with exhaustive data, analysis and tools to help those who fund research, set policies and develop products. Anthologie’s role was to tell this transformative story in a simple and compelling way.

the case for change

By 2024, Policy Cures Research had grown to be a highly respected research organisation within the global health community, including developing the popular G-FINDER health research tool with funding from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Almost a decade after its inception, however, it was time for a change.

Anthologie’s research work with the organisation uncovered a challenge – to engage and motivate the global health community, Policy Cures Research needed to be more clear in their identity with a strong focus on global outcomes. As the world of policymaking and international health investment continued to grow in complexity and inequity, it was important that the organisation’s name more precisely reflected their focus and ambition.

We developed a set of brand audit and diagnostic tools that investigated Policy Cures Research’s place in the global health sphere, including extensive online workshops and facilitated conversations with the extended international team. We uncovered a powerful narrative, with strong staff buy-in and inspirational value for stakeholders and funding partnerships, that wasn’t being reflected in the existing collateral.

THE ASK

1. Elevate Policy Cures Research beyond the existing elite (but niche) stakeholder audience into a truly global positioning.
2. Redefine the brand story and evolve the organisation’s impact and purpose.
3. Create a visual and written language that tells the global impact story in a compelling way.
4. Develop a world-class data driven digital ecosystem – that is robust and engaging for a worldwide audience – that inspires health action and impact.

A NAME AND A PURPOSE FOR WORLD-CHANGING IMPACT

The new name of Impact Global Health was created from an exhaustive process of naming identification, research testing and IP and international copyright audits. The new name was paired with a renewed brand purpose that set a new North Star for the organisation.

Impact Global Health exists to: Positively impact the health of the world’s most disadvantaged people and populations by increasing the pace and impact of biomedical innovations,

by: providing the analysis, tools and evidence needed to make informed, impactful decisions,

so that: people who fund R&D, advocate for it or develop innovations to tackle global health issues can accelerate the delivery of life-changing solutions.

This purpose created a brand archetype, the Influential Counsel, that could guide the tone of voice for the brand internationally, as well as position the organisation’s work in a more authoritative role.

A VISUAL IDENTITY BUILT FOR IMPACT

To bring this compelling new story to life, Anthologie developed an identity system that drew inspiration from editorial illustrations which collated image clippings, graphics, symbols and textures to piece together evidence and tell complex stories in a more human way. The entire identity system was based around a technical grid, that could reveal elements of illustration and photography, deliver complex data as beautiful visualisations and infographics, and present Impact Global Health as an authoritative and trusted source of data and insight. Marrying technical rigour with human impact stories allowed the design system to be adapted into a variety of compelling and scaleable formats across animation, print collateral, film and digital assets.

The system made extensive use of symbols, editorial scientific photography and highly adaptable image treatments. The colour palette was muted and naturalistic to offset the technical iconography and give a warmer, more human feel. A vibrant orange accent colour was used to direct the eye to key information and stats in any format.

a new value proposition

They freely give advocates and decision-makers the precise and impartial evidence, insights and tools to accelerate the pace of innovation and to make informed, impactful investment decisions for global health and equity.

They build bridges, partnerships and consensus across the complex ecosystem of global health R&D players.

They’re an international team, with diverse expertise passionately focused on a common mission – to prevent people from unnecessarily dying or suffering from disease due to the lack of appropriate, affordable and accessible health technologies, anywhere in the world.
